Like you we are elevator experts. And our goal is to make the process easy. There is no car to assemble, no rails to hang and the wiring is complete for elevator contractors. Once the elevator is set in place, it is just like every other elevator you have installed, just without all the heavy lifting, pulling wires and cab assembly in a cramped hoistway.
How We Help
We provide all you need and support for any questions you may have regarding the set of the elevator unit. Keep in mind that we will not leave you out on a limb. You will have a dedicated contact person for every job. Not to mention the online resources that will be available to you. If it is your very first project with us, often times we send a team with the elevator so answer any questions you might have.
There are a few duties to perform you are not accustom to. They include checking the pit for accuracy and anchor bolt placement. But, we will help if you have any questions and trouble shoot with you any issues that arise.
What you need to do.
So, the result is a short list of what you need to do and largely typical of any elevator project:
- Obtain the permits.
- Meet the truck and inspect the load.
- Set and plumb the hoistway.
- Set the machine room (if needed).
- Connect the wiring.
- Run hydraulic lines and fill the tank.
- Start up, test and adjust.
- Supervise inspection.
In addition, it is important to coordinate with the other trades and the general contractor on timing and completion. Remember communication is crucial and we will help anyway we can to facilitate a smooth set and start up.
Once the elevator has been set, it largely just another elevator except the cab, rails, doors, and wiring is already complete. There are a few things to be aware of however there is nothing out of the ordinary.
When the elevator is under power and able to lift the cab, there is a red safety bar that holds the cab in place for shipping and safety. When that is removed, the cab will be free to move like any other elevator.
