Elevator Technician

Duties and responsibilities

  • Read blueprints to determine the equipment needed for installation or repair
  • Knowledge of electronics
  • Install or repair elevator doors, cables, motors, and control systems
  • Locate malfunctions in brakes, motors, switches, and control systems etc.
  • Use test equipment, such as ammeters, voltmeters, and other test equipment considered tools of the trade to diagnose problems
  • Adjust counterweights, door mechanisms, and safety controls
  • Test newly installed equipment to ensure that it meets specifications
  • Comply with safety regulations and building codes
  • Ability to communicate effectively with good time management skills

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Elevator Technician degree or Elevator Mechanic License
  • Industrial/Electrical/Mechanical field, technical diploma or related field, or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience.

Environmental Demands:

  • Physical Requirements Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, climb ladders, and walk beams. Must be able to lift and carry tools and materials weighing in excess of 50 pounds and be able to raise and carry with assistance items weighing 200 pounds. Must be able to work from high ladders and scaffolding. Must be able to work safely in close proximity to moving and working equipment.
  • Work Environment May work in dusty and dirty places such as elevator shafts, and pits or other mechanical spaces where temperatures may exceed 100 and equipment may be oily and greasy.

Construction Sales Representative

Position Summary

Construction Sales Representative in Southern California for the leading vertical transportation company. Construction Sales Representative is responsible for identifying leads and pursuing provided leads as well as proactively prospecting and selling elevators. Responsibilities include building, maintaining and growing long-term relationships with clients, meet regularly with prospective and existing clients in his or her assigned market area to deliver sales presentations, follow up with key decision makers and sell all services, as appropriate. Once contract is received individual will continue to manage project.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Identify viable leads, manage prospects
  • Utilize the company Contact Relationship Management (CRM) tool on a daily basis, scheduling and documenting all activities, and develop robust information profiles on prospective customers to facilitate the acquisition of new business.
  • Proactively communicate with, or respond to, customers
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations to grow existing client base; follow up with key decision makers.
  • Establish long-term relationships with contractors in the designated market.
  • Meet regularly with the Sales Manager as appropriate to review weekly sales activities and prospective customer calling activities.
  • Track all prospective customer information on required reporting format.
  • Complete all required CRM entries and other reports in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
  • Respond in a timely fashion to all customer and prospective client inquiries.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree desired.
  • Two years of direct selling experience.
  • Prior experience in the construction industry.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • One year of experience in a customer-facing role, identifying and addressing customer needs.
  • Valid driver’s license.
